Saturday 13th January, 7:00pm

Bishop’s Stortford Sinfonia will be returning to Stansted for a cozy, charming concert of ‘classical’ symphonies. The evening will begin with Mozart’s Symphony No 41 ‘Jupiter’.
This was his final symphony and generally acknowledged as one of the greatest ‘classical’ symphonies and will showcase the fantastic musicians that make up the Sinfonia at their best. Perfectly paired with the Mozart, is Louise Farrenc’s Symphony No 3, written less than 60 years after Mozart’s ‘Jupiter’. Farrenc was very much at the centre of the Parisian music world during her lifetime but is almost unknown to many audiences today. Her music is remarkable and could stand alongside works from any of her male contemporaries. This symphony is sure to delight and will be a perfect ending to a concert sure to keep away the January blues!
